Land Acquisitions for Energy Asset Developer vs Analyst Role at Full-Service Real Estate Advisory Consultancy

Hi folks,

I am interviewing right now and would like to pick your brains.

I'm broadly interested in opportunistic developments, but do not have a strong preference for a particular asset class. I am far along in my candidacy for:

1. A Land Acquisitions/Entitlements Role with an Energy Asset Developer

and

2. An Analyst Role at a Full-Service Real Estate Consultancy/Advisory

(they do some opportunistic work and cover every asset class)

I feel alternative asset development, especially wind/solar will see incredible demand in the next decade and option 1 sounds like an opportunity to position myself in a space that's still in its infancy.

The analyst role would provide excellent training and broad exposure to all the different asset classes.

I would like to learn as much as possible, differentiate myself as a professional, and eventually develop real estate on my own. Please share additional thoughts and point out where you see long term value.

Thanks!
