Leaving within a year
Any tips on what to do when interviewing to leave a job that you have been at for less than a year?
I got absolutely housed on my comp, way lower than what I agreed to and about 50% below market for my skill/ experience level and a bit lower than what I was making at previous firm.
If they actually lied to you about comp then I wouldn't worry about it from the perspective of storytelling (i.e. when people ask about it on your resume) or from the perspective of feeling like you owe your employer anything.
Tell the real reason why you are leaving or left and it's up to them if they believe it. Nothing you can do about that.
I've been here before and told the interviewers the real reason I left my first job after 8 months and no one seemed to care.
