We should filter this down to every single firm that specializes in commercial real estate. That would be a start.
I understand this is an obnoxious post. It could be filtered down to big shop names. I only made this discussion cus I just got certified in Argus and I'd like to use it my next role. Doing research on which larger firms use it isn't so clear. I'm guessing there others who might be in this predicament. But I guess I can assume most firms use it - thats news to me, fairly new in the industry and come from a multifamily background and its not widely used in that space
In all seriousness, if it's a multifamily-only firm, they probably don't use ARGUS.
If the firm touches office, industrial, or retail, they are pretty much guaranteed to use ARGUS.
I've heard HFF and CBRE use Argus. Could be a rumor.. you didn't hear this from me
No they prefer to UW retail and office strictly in Excel from my experience. +1 MS
It would be more interesting to create a thread of firms who DON'T use Argus.
I interviewed for Unibail Rodamco late last year after their acquisition of Westfield Malls for an AM Analyst role. They were building out their NYC office.
I asked if they use Argus for the numerous retail leases that they need to model. I was curious because job description had no mention of it. Hiring manager said they don’t and mainly Excel. Maybe malls are different than traditional retail modeling? I don’t know.
doesnt sound right. Malls would be painful in excel. 100+ tenants will different rollover and lease terms, ARGUS would make life easier.
