LivCor Capital Markets

Any experience or insights on the culture and nature of the work there? Have heard some departments are terrible and some are great

Does the work feel like you’re just doing the analyst work for BX all the time or are a fair amount of decisions delegated to LivCor? Brutal hours all the time or reasonable balance/fluctuation?

I worked in capital markets at another bx portco and had a very good experience. It was perfect for me because I had a non-traditional background and never had good training prior. In this role, I worked closely with the BX team and was able to copy how they did things and uptier my skill set significantly. Once you get to the point where you have 80% of the skills of BX analyst, you are kicking a lot of ass, and that will help you forever.

They will delegate some decisions to you, but you have to understand their mentality... everyone at BX does "analyst work" in my experience. They analyze everything to the 10th degree.

Some fluctuation, but mostly brutal.

They will ask you to work very hard and do some bitch work, but it's not like they aren't willing to do bitch work themselves. If you have the right attitude, it's a great learning experience.
