Marcus and Millichap Interview

Hope everyone is doing well during these crazy times of coronavirus. I am a soon to be college graduate who has a job interview coming up with Marcus and Milichap. I already had a 15 minute phone screening and now have a more formal interview lined up next week. What type of questions should I expect? Does anyone that worked at M&M have any advice on what it’s like working there.

Do you like cold calling, are you willing to cold call, how aggressive will you be when cold calling?

They tend to put new hires on the front line of lead generation and cold calling, so aggressiveness and toughness are key. I cannot speak from personal experience but they are known to have a very strong junior broker training program.

I'm sure there are some MM alumni or currents on WSO who can give you more details.

I interned there during college and had an offer to join a Multifamily team after college. I ended up joining a team over at CBRE. i can say that the training you receive at M&M and the culture surrounding the firm is not the best. Most brokers are all multifamily and there’s high likelihood you’ll be calling owners that were called by a fellow M&M associate same day. there’s also a general sense of distrust among brokers even within the same office. if u can I would try to land at a spot that’s a bit more reputable for sales
