Marcus & Millichap Investment Sales Offer
I just got an offer to work part time while going to school at M&M. (It's the Bay Area)
I'll be working on their Investment Sales team (commission based).
Do you think this is worth my time? Do you think I can make decent money like 10k+ plus in like 5 months?
thanks
Would you be an analyst on the team? Hard question to answer without more information. How will you get paid? Part of a commission based on the broker's sales, or they're asking you to broker a sale?
With the exception of their STNL teams, all of their real talent has been phased into their IPA brand - especially on the West Coast. So keep that in mind.
Yea it seems that their IPA brand is actually set up more like a real investment sales team rather than a sweat shop. Still MMM, so definitely not the cleanest of deals, but a lot better than most street level MMM guys.
We ran a joint portfolio with them handling the MF portion, and I was very surprised by the level of acumen they put together. Haven't run into that level on East Coast, but wouldn't be surprised if it comes soon - especially with Holiday out of the mix.
Might not be worth your time for the money. It is definitely worth your time for the education. Especially if you want to pursue brokerage post grad.
Im assuming this is the Palo Alto office? I am familiar with some of the specific groups there, Would this be for their general program or would you be working for Johnston/Levin group types?
Yup. It's worth it, but mostly for the experience rather than the money.
