I've seen they're very aggressive and seem to be lose when they file for foreclosure on owners. What do you mean invest in mechanics liens, I've never heard of that could you explain further?

I thought they were buying loans from the bank or mezz positions but I'll read more into them. I've seen they're in a few The Real Deal articles recently in NYC.

CRE Shervin nailed it.  Not very popular, for obvious reasons, but you'll probably get some really awesome technical knowledge from working there.

 

Total dirtbags. Pretty smart but play extremely dirty despite cultivating a more upscale image. And I'm saying they play dirty the NY real estate industry, which takes extra effort to distinguish yourself. And they are not proprietary data analytics geniuses contrary to the backstory they tell about their founding. I know three people who were in B-School with them. They invest in distressed RE like anyone else out there
