MF PE - What’s next?

Disregard title, I’m lateral hire in a MF PE (think Blackstone, KKR, Apollo) in the RE group. Comp is cool, but I want to understand what’s next. Is there something else with equal or better comp but better WLB? Is special sits better? London / Regional EU offices only please

WLB ideally, but most importantly I’m somewhat scared of becoming an RE specialist

From my limited view on the Family Office world (went deep on a few interviews for roles but never accepted one or got offered for others I would’ve accepted ironically enough), comp varies wildly and usually, your daily function/long-term strategy can be more tumultuous in that world than the institutional world. Overall, hours seemed far better and there were a healthy amount of groups willing to be competitive on comp.
