Does anyone know if there is a real estate group at Morgan Stanley in Los Angeles? I did some "digging" on LinkedIn and see there's an MD (Real Estate Investing) and VP (Commercial Real Estate Finance) in LA but not seeing any analysts come up.

I don’t think so. They seem to have a large presence in SF and NY only.
There are a couple of CMBS guys there, does anyone know what do they do there? Any cmbs originators there?
Conduit CMBS. Not sure how many originators but I know they have 4-5 analysts/associates supporting the originators in LA.

Their analyst program is based out of SF and their training program is in NY so they do not have new analyst in LA, only SF
There's not really an office there - just 1-2 senior guys who help head up the west coast... they had a larger team in SF (including analysts, associates) which I assume is still there...

I am pretty familiar with the MD of that office. I've worked with them before/ been to a presentation there. Not sure how the office would compare to the NY/SF offices. They have analyst/associates but I think they are exp or post-MBA. MSREI LA uses headhunters to fill the spots. They definitely crank though work there and do a lot of deals.
What do they do in the office? Mainly PE investments? Any debt side originations particularly CMBS?
