Moving from Transportation Assets to CRE

Currently working in asset backed finance for transportation assets (rail, marine, aviation). Have always been interested by CRE and interviewed for some roles before landing the transportation role.

Has anyone made this move before? In my mind, it seems like the skills would be somewhat transferrable. Transportation assets are basically just mobile real estate assets that depreciate (overly simplistic, but you get the point) so I would think there should be some crossover but would be curious to get some insight from folks in the industry.
