I don't think their focus is necessarily changing (large, high quality assets), but more an expansion past hospitality and into other asset types.

In the past they haven't done many deals each year (~1 or 2), but when you are working on $1bn resorts it isn't like there isn't a lot to do at the properties themselves.

In terms of WLB, I've heard the team works a fair amount of hours, but they are also merging with another company right now so who knows what culture will look like in the future.

From what I know, pay is pretty comparable to top shops across the board.

If you are a mid 20s associate type, I would think having a place like MSD on your resume would open doors if you ever wanted to leave.
