MSRE Location

How important is it to do an MSRE where you plan on working after the program? I would like to end up in Texas and have applied to a few MBA/MSRE in Texas but wanted people opinions on this Topic. I have also applied to NYU, Wisconsin, USC.

Very important, IMO. You can learn what a cap rate is anywhere, but you should be spending your spare time grabbing coffee and/or drinks with people in the business community you want to end up in. Maybe that turns into a summer or even school year internship, and maybe that internship turns into a full time job. Can you do that from NYU or USC to Texas? Sure, and it's not like those aren't known schools, but why would you make it harder or more expensive on yourself?
