NEED Help: cheaper commercial lending, commercial credit certificate training class

Hello All, I need some advice.

I'm a fresh graduate (no experience) and am interesting in becoming a credit analyst. I found some training courses online, but they are so expensive. The Moody's Analytics Commercial Lending course is $1,080.00. The ABA - Certificate in Business and Commercial Lending IS $875 (NON-MEMBER)...

Does anyone knows any cheaper certificate training courses for commercial lending, commercial credit?

Thank you!

I don’t think you need to spend money. Most banks send their green analysts to some sort of internal credit training where you’ll learn everything you need to start putting together credit memos. If you’re fresh out of school I would focus on speaking and presentation skills to ace the fit/culture portion of your interviews. Rudimentary accounting and the 5 C’s of credit should be all you need to know. Instead of spending money, I’d look up some commercial bankers on LinkedIn/bank websites and ask if they would be up for grabbing coffee to learn about what they do for a living and what a credit analyst role looks like so you can intelligently answer “why do you want this job” in an interview.

I 100% agree with creditcreditcredit . Most of it is fit at your level. Get a baseline understanding of commercial real estate and reach out to people at the banks you're interested in. There is a dropbox link somewhere on this site that has a bunch of Book PDFs you can download, that would be a great resource. If you still feel like you want to learn more after reading everything you can find online, try Udemy. They have some decent courses and are much cheaper ($10-100), as opposed to spending a months rent on a certification. Adventures in CRE is a good resource as well

Thank you for your advice. I definitely don't want pay that kind of money for a training class. LoL
I will try to talk to the bankers through linkedin and get a deeper understanding of the role.
