Networking with competition?
Does anyone reach out to their direct competition in the industry and get to know them or their business at all?
Recently started working in RE Advisory and trying to understand whether it’s normal to be in contact or on good terms with your direct competitors.
What do you mean by "RE Advisory" ..... I think it can be different based on role/industry, some are more naturally collaborative than others. More natural for this to occur at conferences, industry org meetings, but well... COVID... so maybe this is the normal/required game.
Overall, YES it's normal to be on "good terms" with direct competitors. Just make sure you are clear about what you are hoping to accomplish when you reach out.
