Newmark v Eastdil, Related's Lufthansa (Signature) heist & Wells v JPM
Wanted to share the latest Promote Podcast drop: We discuss the rivalry between Newmark & Eastdil, two mighty CRE brokerages that seem to live to one-up each other - v different styles and v different comp models that play a role too which we get into.
We get into Related's "Lufthansa heist" - the expert politicking that led them snag the Signature Bank RS book for 36% LESS than fellow bidders. And finally, more Chetrit action – this time a battle between Wells & JPMorgan over a $500M multifamily megadeal that went wrong.
Please have a listen, and if it's your jam, subscribe and share. Any and all feedback is welcome - we're learning as we go. Thanks!

Already the best RE pod around, tbh. Such a good episode, really the only second-order take on these issues I've heard in the media so far.
thank you devdov! "Second-order take" is exactly what we are going for so this is nice to hear :)
Surprisingly insightful podcast, really good work. Nice to hear a RE-focused podcast which has actual analysis and commentary and isn't just a fawning regurgitation of whatever press release the developer in question put out.
Appreciate you! It's a very conscious decision to not go down the PR route and instead try to bring to CRE what folks like The Ringer are doing. Hope you keep tuning in
Fantastic listen, thanks for doing this. and keep dropping those anti-transcendentalist author references
