Looking at role with them where I would be sourcing market rate apartment deals and managing development process. I'm aware of the basics of the company but would be interested in hearing from anyone that's familiar or has worked with them in the past.
For what its worth, this would be my first jump into the deal sourcing side of the business.
I'm comparing this to working at larger mixed-use developer doing "cooler" projects but less individual responsibility and less chance to get a piece of promote. Very similar to this thread https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/greystar-vs-brookfield-developme…;
I have a friend who is an attorney and they are his main client, doing development work for a large state they operate in. He is always impressed by them and their team but notes they like to stay under the radar a bit.
Overall, I have a good impression of the firm, but can't speak to what it is like working there.
IMO this is always a good sign for a real estate investor
They are an extremely well heeled and competent development firm. As another user mentioned, they try to stay under the radar. Development is obviously a risky business, but they have managed this risk well. During down cycles they pivot to LIHTC development, and they have a great track record in that space. They have a great source of GP capital so you won't need to worry about their ability to pursue deals.
I would think this is a pretty compelling opportunity.
