NYU MSRE/MSRED Programs

Hi all,

I'm looking to understand more about NYU's MS programs for Real Estate/Real Estate Development (or similar programs for that matter), specifically in terms of job placement/career opportunities after graduation.

I have 6 years of CRE experience in various areas of the business, but not one for too long (Fannie Mae, development, leasing etc). I have been getting traction with my job search (primarily on the lending side) but it seems to me that my lack of specialization is hurting me. For that reason, I have been considering the NYU programs (also Columbia but would rather not take a GRE/GMAT) as a way to break into the industry here.

I was hoping people that have been in those programs could speak to what the recruiting looks like coming out of them, how the career office works, if the big players in the industry look to them for talent or any other insight into how they might be beneficial for me in landing a role. I am pretty agnostic on the role type, I have been looking at acquisitions, development, lending, investment sales - a role that will give me modeling exposure and expertise, and will allow me to grow in the industry.

Cheers.
