Productive things to do for young analyst?

I just started working at a pretty small development co. (<100MM), doing mostly  AM now, but will be working acquisitions/development when new project begins soon. My problem is, I'm  working remotely and don't always have that much to do. I ask for new work but a lot of times there's just not that much AM for me to do. I want to stay productive and make the most of my time, do you have any suggestions for ways for me to learn, connect or further develop my skills or network during the day? I need to decide soon if I plan on staying with this firm, I've been leaning towards yes because I don't have many other prospects, but my number 1 goal is to learn as much as possible to allow  myself to transition into a ft acquisitions role at a larger shop.

If you’re looking to transition to an acquisitions role, and currently do AM, make sure you’re finance/modeling skills are up to snuff.

Not sure the flavor of development work you’ll be doing at your firm - I’ve talked to a number of folks who’ve done development at well known regional players, but it was ultimately more of a project management role. They ended up getting an MBA to fill out their skillset on the finance side.

Definitely push for true underwriting and modeling experience at your firm, and show them that you’re capable of taking it on. Look at models for previous deals, make sure you understand and can replicate them quickly.
