Public Homebuilder Industry Primer

Anybody have an equity research-style primer on Public Homebuilders, US-focused or otherwise? I want to start paying attention to this sector of the residential market more, however, as non-REIT real estate companies, I am less familiar with their mechanics, common metrics, and other aspects to consider when evaluating their operations and corresponding market signals.
