Ranieri Real Estate Partners - Future top REIB / REPE player?

What do you guys think of Ranieri Real Estate Partners?

They were founded by Ranieri (yes, the Solomon guy) and a senior team from Deutsche Bank and have been actively buying up various real estate IB / servicing platforms. It seems that they are trying to take advantage of the industry consolidation and change in BB's ability / willingness to be in the commercial real estate business.

Example of a recent / pending deal: http://www.cnbc.com/id/45670611/Ranieri_Real_Esta…

What do you guys think of their strategy? Do you think they'll give the established BBs and / or Private Equity firms a run for their money?

I only know a couple of the guys there. Seems like an interesting place.
