Real Estate Advice

I’ve been working at a third-party underwriting firm in NYC for about a year now, doing underwriting work for large banks. The environment is essentially a sweatshop — we service a ton of clients, the deadlines constantly conflict, and I’m working late nights and weekends without compensation. I know I want to move within real estate, but I’m not entirely sure which direction makes the most sense.

Right now I’m on the debt side (kinda one step removed), and I’m trying to figure out whether I’m not enjoying the debt business itself, or if it’s just the culture and structure of my current role. I’m a very personable guy and would really like to find a path that lets me combine the analytics I’m strong at with the relationship-driven side of who I am.

Any advice would be really appreciated.
