Real Estate Certification to break into multifamily development from Corporate Finance?
I currently work as an investment manager for a top automotive manufacturer in the US and am desperately trying to break into CRE, specifically multifamily acquisitions or development. I have solid investment analysis experience supporting retail real estate development (proforma modeling, site due diligence, REC meetings, etc.). Given that much of the expertise required for development is hands-on learning, I'm considering taking some additional coursework in my free time to bolster my resume. A few that I'm considering are the following:
Adventures in CRE Accellerator Program - ~$600
eCornell University Real Estate Development Certificate - $3,900
eCornell University Commercial Real Estate Certificate - $3,900
Does anyone have experience with any of these programs, or are there others that I should look into that are not above? I'm willing to shell out $4K but want to ensure that this would be a value add before committing to 17 weeks of coursework.
Thanks!
A.CRE is very comprehensive and the guys who lecture went through Cornell’s real estate school.
