Real Estate Portfolio Manager Intern

Quick background, I am a 1st year MSRE student looking to secure an internship ideally at a mid to large developer. I have some decent traction with some very solid shops in my city but nothing concrete and I am getting a bit worried as I don't have a true RE background (3 years at huge GC as an engineer) so I know how crucial a solid internship is this summer.

On to the real question, I recently secured an interview (I know nothing is certain, but I want to be prepared) for a RE Portfolio Manager Internship at a household name tech company. From my research it appears there might be little translation on the skills I would gain in this role to the development analyst/ associate position I ultimately want. However, my main question is, would having this internship at such a name brand company in a RE role be beneficial at all or would this pigeon hole me a bit and make it harder to get in to development post MSRE? I do also have an interview with a very small land developer but from initial talks with them they currently act more as an owners rep for homebuilders and have done like 2 small infill multifamily deals in the last 4 years so not sure how good of experience they can offer me if I do secure that as well. Appreciate any insight you all can give me.
