Rejection email not even 24hrs after applying
Sent in my application for a Real Estate Analyst program. 19 hours later, I get a rejection e-mail. I've never been rejected so fast lol it usually takes 1-2 months. I met literally every bullet point in the job posting too. What am I doing wrong here? Even the jobs that say 0-1 years of exp don't want to interview me.
Impossible to say what you're doing wrong without any sort of information on your background/resume
Yep gonna agree with this - would probably shine some light, but with a rejection that fast I'm thinking that maybe they had a required item on their list that maybe you didn't meet. Again, just a thought but it would make sense with a quick rejection.
This is just a guess but sometimes job listings are outdated, and it's possible that they had already offered a candidate of choice before receiving your app, in which case there's no reason to waste both parties' time.
This or they already have someone in mind but are obligated for legal reasons to make a posting for the position.
As weird as it sounds, that's actually awesome...I would love to know upfront if I am wasting my time or not.
Exactly. This is far from something to complain about. Most companies just waste your time.
While I hear this point, it just comes off as a troll move by HR because it basically never happens.
Job post could be outdated and they have already identified their finalists or already extended an offer to their candidate
I remember applying to Nomura IBD SA and getting a rejection 2 hrs. At least HR is on top of their game
It's better than the opposite. I have a lot of respect for companies that do this.
Absolutely hate companies that don't get back to you. I also hate the ones that after doing an in person interview, send an automated rejection email. I always think a lot less of a company that do either of what I mentioned.
Hate to say it but in the current environment checking the boxes for requirements is not nearly enough in many cases.
Also is your resume formatted normally? I know numerous people that say a resume that is formatted weird gets tossed immediately.
Maybe you submitted right before their screening process.
