Retail - time to get in at the bottom?
Junior investment prof at mid-size PERE shop, currently evaluating a retail investment (B/B+ mall) but our group has little to no experience in the space. What are your guys' thoughts? Any good materials to get smart in a hurry?
What are sales at that mall? How are competitors doing and what are demos like?
As you probably know, malls, particularly Bish malls, are under a lot of scrutiny by investors and lenders alike. Unless theres some kind of solid story behind as to why this mall won't go away in a few years, probably best to stay away.
