Self storage REITS
Anyone work at the self storage reits (or focus on buying storage)? Just curious what it’s like at those firms as they seem to be doing 1-5 transactions per month. What type of systems do firms doing this type of volume have in place so their acquisitions teams aren’t working 24/7 all year round?
From the PE firm perspective, It seems like anyone gaining AUM scale in the space is buying portfolio after portfolio and must be working 24/7 to gain that scale as you need to do so many $5-10MM transactions to gain that scale. Seems brutal. At least to me. From someone who’s firm does 1 transaction every year (or every other) as a developer.
