Selling Sunset - Luxury Brokerage

Hi everyone,

I've self reflecting a ton after recently graduating and have to the realization that I love real estate for a few reasons: design, the business model, tangibility, growth and the fact that it just makes sense. After watching Selling Sunset with my gf and seeing how much the brokers of Oppenheim pull in... I can't help but think what if I drop everything to do brokerage? It seems like a fulfilling career where your back is against wall and you have no choice but to perform.

I know content makes everything seems so glamorized and one's experience in brokerage heavily depends on the market, sales skills, people skills - but what if? What are you thoughts?

If you're attractive and personable go for it. Can make more in resi faster than you can in commercial. Folks like to knock it but luxury brokerage paychecks compete with commercial brokerage checks.

I wouldn't base career decisions on what you see on highly scripted reality television shows.

Never seen the show, but I strongly suspect those brokers aren't making as much as they'd like you to think.
