Anyone know what senior associates or associate VPs are pulling in at decent shops (non-megafund)? Glancing at glassdoor yields some pretty disappointing results, namely a lot of sub-$170k for people who are 5+ years into their careers.

Recruiters will tell you it’s all over the map in real estate. On WSO you’ll hear a lot of people say 5 years of experience means around $200K all in (NY/SF/similar cities). With that said, from the recruiting I’ve done, there are firms that pay all over the map and with 5 years of experience I’ve seen anywhere from $150K all in to $225. The majority fall in the $160-$170 range. The higher up in the payscale you go towards $200K all in usually correlated with worse hours.
150 to 225 isn't all over the map. I know people at 5yrs that were approaching 300k. it might just really depend on the specific group. how much money they have, how big the team is, how greedy the head people are. talk to some recruiters they have better info than anyone
I've found that for especially big companies, the ranges that glassdoor gives isn't accurate at all. Which makes sense, since the investment senior associate roles are being pulled down by accounting / internal finance / investor relations / etc. My actual comp (large firm) is almost 2x the figure that glassdoor shows. So I'd recommend speaking to recruiters
In NYC at a shop that has a significant bonus component ~250K plus or minus 50K sounds right for senior associate/AVP. Glassdoor probably doesn't capture bonus too well especially since those positions are generally a transitional time in many careers.
HCOL northeast city. Can confirm the $250K figure. $300K+ you’d be entering the VP territory for pay, where the difference will be carry.
