Sixth Street Partners

Any information on their real estate platform would be helpful, as not much readily available online. Comp/culture info would be helpful as well, as I’m weighing an opportunity with this group against another institutional real estate firm which has been around longer.

Don't know anything first hand, but from my pov seems to be similar to two sigma where they're overcomplicating real estate transactions and the process.

I general real estate is simple, I've heard of two sigma using machine learning and AI all in order to buy sub $10mm brownstones in Brooklyn lol. Like talk about overcomplicating a process and making things more difficult to show investors their fee is worth and it and they're different.

Right, I've never worked with anyone there but there's only so much DD you can do and there's guys who over analyze who lose everything too (see Long Term Capital Management hedge fund run by very smart academics that imploded). PGIM / RXR / others have all these processes and deep dive bs to buy the deal at an insane basis and hand the keys back years later, it's all just to justify fees and at the end of the day it's basis and conservative assumptions that save you.
