Structured REIB --> PE?

Monkeys,

Class of 2020 undergrad here. I am starting a role this summer (that COVID hopefully will not spoil) in structured REIB at a MM, with the ultimate goal of REPE. Has anyone had experience in this scenario? Is it possible, or should I attempt a lateral into REGAL? If so, any suggestions on what I should do / skills I should have under my belt (ARGUS, equity modeling, etc.) in order to make the move?

Thanks in advance!
