Syndications Exit Opportunities

Looking to gauge opinions regarding career advice. I am currently training to be a commercial RE lender and have been considering moving to the syndication space. In terms of exit opportunities for REPE firms or similar capacity, which of these roles would be a better route to take and why?

My perspective is that lending would probably be a better opportunity to learn more about the details of getting projects done (and likely develop more transferable skills for getting PE projects done), than working at a higher level of getting the financing arrange for larger deals. Any thoughts and comments are appreciated, thanks.
