You have to eat, sleep, and breathe CRE to make it in the industry. People sincerely want to see that you're passionate and your story, as to why you're making the change, should align with that. You should also elaborate on what is making the transition difficult. Your description in vague at best.
what do you do at big 4?
I always recommend getting ARGUS certified. As I've said before, it's kind of BS and it's not extremely hard to do, i don't even know if it teaches you well but it's a check the box thing that most people don't have and it will make you stand out. There's difference between being proficient and being certified by the developer of the program.
Have you tried transitioning to your firm's re valuation or consulting teams? It's not the sexiest option, but it's a a start. It's tougher searching for a job in the summer...
