Transitioning into an equity side asset management position

My background... i was previously a multifamily valuations analyst for an equity shop, i am currently an multifamily debt underwriting analyst. I am interested in and am looking to to switch over to and asset management analyst/associate role on the equity side. im in nyc but during my job search im not really seeing any analyst and or associate asset mgmt roles.

Anyone have any advice or insight on making the transition?
