Underwriting or Asset Management for Entry-Level?
Im currently weighing entry level offers as an underwriting analyst and Asset Management-financial analyst, which of these would open more door for moving into a acquisitions type of role within a repe or reit?
Thanks!
I'd lean towards the underwriting role. Could you expand more on what the Asset Management role is covering? Asset management could have some modeling or could just be preparing yearly financials and managing properties
Underwriting will probably lead to production/origination roles that are more exciting and have more upside.
Are you guys saying that underwriting will lead to more deal exposures?
I'd say underwriting, you will actually be working on new deals which is closer to what you are saying you'd like to eventually do. At a lot of places there is a progression from underwriting > acquisitions roles. On the other hand some places have a progression of AM > acquisitions so you should do your homework.
