US Sovereign Debt Rating & unjustified optimism in the market

Is it just me or is this US Fed QE program without any ceiling absolutely absurd. I mean, how much in securities can you buy to artificially prop up the economy? At what point will the money printer stop. Isn't the Fed's sole purpose to regulate inflation? When will the major credit rating agencies realize enough is fucking enough and downgrade the US Credit Rating?
