Work in permanent capital/roll up type environment. Great for prospecting, really detailed stuff from financing/transaction details that would otherwise be more difficult to come across (debt maturities are a really cool one). Prospecting is great too, has a lot of added value, but depends how niche your targets are. In my firm’s case, we are extremely specific about our criteria and we still found benefit in Pitchbook’s prospecting tools, albeit with some downsides related to the specificity of our searches. As for the examples you mentioned, I would definitely suggest it. You can look into having your firm go on a trial. Again, I don’t have PE experience so I can’t attest to its usefulness, but for our acquisition purposes it’s great.
