VP Hiring Process

Hey everyone! Just curious what is the hiring process like for a VP? Sorry if this is a stupid question but do they need to take an excel/modeling test like analysts/associates? Or is it more about their speaking abilities and experience?

I just went through the interview process at this level. Only 1 firm made me take a modeling test. They mentioned they were burned by someone at the VP level who lacked those skills. The other firms all assumed you had the technical abilities if you've progressed this far in your career.

A deal sheet and being able to talk through the opportunities you've worked on is a much bigger part of the process at the VP level compared to the analyst/associate level. VP level can span a pretty wide range of experience. Let me know if you have specific questions and I can provide more detail.
