Walker and Dunlop (NYC Office) - Thoughts?
Last post I saw about this was from 2018 so I'm looking for some fresh opinions...
I know they recently brought in the team from AKS Capital Partners, but does anyone have any other pros/cons?
Apparently you work a very long hours (late night/early mornings) and Aaron is a pyschopath but other than that I don't know much.

Weapons in MF, but definitely niched in that arena.
Pros - great MF exposure. Cons - no one outside of MF space knows who W&D is.

I worked for Aaron's team at JLL and if you get an offer / decide to work there, don't expect hugs and kisses. They will work you into the ground and not think twice about it. Talking until 11:00pm-1:00am each night, especially if you have live deals. Weekends too but not as much emphasis on facetime.
If you do decide to go that route, really make sure that's what you want to do. I saw a good amount of staff come in and leave within months because they couldn't handle the stress.
Are you talking IB hours or what is the general range of hr/week?
Hours were basically 9:00am - 11:00pm each day, with a few midnight+ nights every other week or so
Can you comment on the comp? Would assume with hours like that they must pay pretty well.
This was a couple years ago so FWIW, base pay was $60k and bonus was around 70-80% (we had great years) so all in around $100k-$110k in New York so not too bad.
What was the brunt of the workload leading to such long hours? Was it sourcing new deals (i.e. cold calling, cold emails, etc.) or some financial modeling to asses deals prior to presenting to lenders?
No cold calling at a group like this, ur job is putting tg marketing materials. This includes underwriting and ppt.
