Does anyone have real info on Wells Fargo’s CRE compensation for analysts/associates? WSO’s data doesn’t seem credible to me because the reviews and actual salary data are contradicting. Could a 1st year analyst expect $85K base and $5K bonus?

WF CMBS: $85k + $10k bonus for senior analyst
Thanks. Is that a 2020 rate? Or from a previous year like 2018 or 2019
Also is that for a high cost of living city like NYC, LA?
That seems obscenely low. Our cmbs analysts are clearing $80-90k base for a 1st year with 30-50% bonuses

Analyst pay is low..... HCOL is like 75k 10% bonus. For CLT its 60k 10% bonus.

I think it’s important to note the difference between balance sheet lending and cmbs. Cmbs is usually in line with IB. Balance sheet lending is more in line with commercial banking.
Makes sense. But some banks combine their agency groups with balance sheet lending. So in that sense, you have 2 in 1. That’s why I’m confident their comp is higher than commercial banking but lower than IB.
First get the offer. Than worry about comp. Or if you’re targeting a certain compensation amount, in your first interview, ask about compensation. If you’re not happy with it, don’t continue interviewing.

Not at all. It’s extremely common to ask what they’ve budgeted for salary and bonus. Every interview I’ve ever been on I ask - I have no desire to interview for a role that doesn’t pay what I’m looking for. Even if this is your first job out of college, you’re entitled to know. What if they told you they are paying $40K, you might say no thanks.
In many instances, the potential employer will also ask you what you want to make or what your target compensation is. They have a budget in mind. Always ask what their budgeted compensation is to make sure you are in alignment. It is a waste of everyone’s time if you are not.
