What do you do when someone is hired above you?
I’ve been busting my butt all year to be promoted. I’ve been softly promised a role that, I’ve just come to find out was posted for external candidates. Im very frustrated, and it wasn’t discussed with me prior to posting, which makes me think I’m not even in the running.
Looking for guidance from anyone who has been in this situation before.
Thanks!
Talk to your boss about it; seems pretty binary.
Yup. Could be they have to advertise it. Could be you're just a potential candidate of many. Could be they don't think you're ready or a good fit.
