What do you like about your job?

I'm just curious what gets everyone excited to go to work every day? I know there are some people here in development, asset management, acquisitions, brokerage...What do you like about your job? How would you convince someone to follow your career path? I want to hear your stories.

Steady paycheck, strong bonuses. I like that. Coworkers are pretty cool too.

But the work itself? Pretty blah after awhile. Work is work and there can only be so many financing scenarios before you see 99% of them. I'm not even sure if CRE interests me that much but I majored in it and have worked in it for 3 years so I'm not sure what else I'd be doing.

Honestly, I want to focus on my side hustle that has absolutely jack to do with finance, but that's what I truly enjoy. My job just finances it.

The place-making aspect. Most of the time it's pretty cool to be a part of a project where we're creating an idea for a place that people are using either for shopping, dining, living, working, etc. Not everyday and every property is sexy, but it's pretty sweet to see something you've put together be put to use by lots of people.

I don't really go out of my way to convince others to come into the industry because it's not everyone's cup of tea. However, I don't mind connecting with others or young people who are interested in breaking in.
