What do you think of private capital advisory groups? EVR / PJT
Got offered a role at a RE Private Capital Advisory job for EVR/PJT.How feasible is exiting to REPE or development?
For those that don’t know they do a lot of fundraising / SMA type transactions.
.
Out of curiosity, what is private capital advisory?
Raise equity for PE fundraising or SMA. Also do recaps / continuation vehicles but that’s not as common with this market.
Equity raising role but pays very well. 115k base + 60-90% bonus for a first year. Considered investment banking but not your traditional real estate investment banking groups where you do REIT M&A and shit
Do you know what the salary and bonus % looks like as you move up the ranks?
Do you mind elaborating the skills needed as an assoc/analyst? Trying to figure out what skills are useful bc it seems like there isn’t much modeling? Mainly relationship/sales focused?
What's your background? Maybe you can jump to acq/dev now have seen some roles open up and even if you're coming from brokerage you can land these roles.
Non target but did the IB grind
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I was under the assumption that PCA or RECA was much more focused on the fund so to jump to acquisitions you aren’t increasing your repe experience level. Ie if you move after two years in IB you would be an analyst and if you did an additional two years in pca you’d still be an analyst upon moving. Thought the most common pca exit was IR. Repe is doable, especially coming from RECA since you’d know the RE market and big players, but you still don’t know the pe process, asset knowledge, or have those broker connections.
.
If it’s the Evercore team I’ve done some work with them and they seem like a straight forward, sharp, hardworking team. Can’t provide much more. I work at a top dev in our asset class and if we had an opening on our acq or dev team we’d hire some one with that shop on their resume if the person matched with culture fwiw
