What internship will help set a junior year internship in Real Estate investments/REPE better: Fortune 50 or boutique IB?

Hi everyone,

I'm a sopohmore currently attending a non-target. I am very interested in getting into real estate investments at a BB or REPE.

I have two internship offers this summer:

1) Financial Analyst internship at a top Fortune 50 company. Great company name.

2) Boutique IB Summer Analyst in Underwriting.

Which one of these internships will set me up better? I figured since I'm coming from a non-target I should try and get any big names I can on my resume, but IB is also good as well. I'm equally happy with the responsibilities in both roles.

I’m a sophomore too I’d say keep applying to stuff in the CRE industry as well. Many firms still looking for interns.

Unfortunately it is difficult without you being more specific. Probably leaning toward the IB gig. Any reason you can't get a REPE internship? Clearly you have the resume.

"The606" What would you say about having a sophomore internship (Valuation and Advisory) at a large CRE like (Cushman, CBRE or JLL) how does that set you up for REPE?

It's a great way to get commercial real estate on your resume and set you up well for the next summer. I wouldn't want to do valuation and advisory long term, but at your age, getting that brand name on your resume and showing you have interest in commercial real estate is a strong start.
