The word "villa" was first used during the Roman Empire to describe a large, isolated and beautiful building. Wealthy Romans leave the city and move to the countryside to "get away" from the old days. The word "villa" is still used today, especially in Europe, to refer to large and luxurious vacation homes. US residents may use this term when describing large homes. This is not old time.
