When will job postings pickup?
Currently a senior associate looking for similar or VP role in asset management in NYC. When do we expect job postings to pickup? I was anxiously hoping for today, but have not seen much.

If job postings do pick up probably around bonuses (Feb - March) or late spring. Today is the first “real day” back in the office
Bump - curious to hear if anyone is seeing some more activity heading into the end of February.
My friends who are asset managers searching for roles are getting tons of interviews right now.
Bump - also its been a ton of reposting of old listings as Asso level and such nothing new same firms. only thing I have noticed is Credit roles are cropping up.
Seeing new debt roles posted, but nothing on the equity side. I feel like there are even less postings than in the Fall. This is tough.
I'll be honest. This is the norm now. Most of the positions that are out there are just debt AM which most on this board would find dull. Theres very very limited positions on the equity side. Might be a few AM positions on that side, but nothing on Acq. I ended up becoming good friends with recruiter focused on RE. He told me people are even leaving the industry to pursue other fields. 2015-2022 was really a one off period and cant really be considered the average.
I am seeing the same thing, tons of credit roles but it's been slim pickings on the equity side, especially acquisition-type roles. Hopefully, it'll pick up here soon.
Where are you seeing the credit roles?
I don't think job postings are going to pick up. This is going to be the run rate for the foreseeable future.
You're more likely to succeed through aggressive networking.
I’m seeing lots of debt am roles but not really originations. Debt AM is probably not most people’s cup of tea unfortunately.
