Wide mandate family office to VP at a REPE Fund

With solid transaction experience is this sort of movement possible?  The deals are similar as we can take down larger deals and syndicate out remaining equity. Only true difference I see is the need to put out more capital annually.  Has anyone made a move like this or seen something like this be done?  I know its more common at the associate / analyst levels but what about VP?
