Work Life Balance

My current round-trip commute is 3 hours which has me thinking about which firms and cities offer the best work life balance. I think it would be helpful if people could post their location, commute time, working hours, flexibility etc.

location: nyc

commute: 2.45-3 hours daily

hours: 50. Could go a little higher if busy but never really putting in less than that

Flexibility: no work from home or other programs to ease the m-f mundane.

Look at regional banks, credit unions, large banks and work in their credit or lending department. Life Cos, working for the city, also good WLB.

Not sure people posting their firms and cities are going to give you the answer you're looking for here, which I assume you already know: you need to live a hell of a lot closer to where you work.

Having to round trip commute 3 hours a day would make life suck in any city or any firm.

That is painfully awful.
