workforce/short term housing. Thoughts?
anyone have any insight into the short term/extended stay model? furnished versus non furnished? I’m seeing a trend where management and landlords are renting out their inventory to corporate housing companies on a master lease. does anyone understand the financials of this play and why one would go this route over the traditional 1 year non furnished apartment lease? is this what future tenants want? 3-4 months of short term lease with apartment already furnished? typically, many startups are getting into this play where it’s essentially an Airbnb for 2-6 months. the startup leases out units from landlords and pays them rent while they furnish it and lease it out to their contacts. however, would you furnish and lease out the product yourself on a short term basis over a one year lease? thoughts?
