When I was in undergrad, I always thought NYC wasn't for me. I've now lived/worked in LA and Chicago, and they both have been great. I just spent a week out in NYC now that a few of my friends are working out there in finance, and wow now that I am out of college and have friends out there my whole perspective has changed and I am really considering searching for my next job there.
For people that have worked in real estate in NYC, is it worth it? Does it compensate well enough to live a good life out there considering you are surrounded by so many people in finance who are likely making significantly more?
