WSO - How normal/weird is it to get gifts for your close co-workers when you leave?

Assuming you're leaving on very good terms. I'm talking gifts for just your boss and may be the boss's boss. Assuming also you've been at the company for a long time and built great relationships with people.

I've heard from some that it's weird/brown nosing etc...But genuinely want to celebrate good memories when I leave so, what do yall think.

Think it depends what your relationship is like.

If it was a good mentor-mentee relationship and you want to buy them something as a thank you, then I think it is fine.

If they were just your boss, then I don't think it makes sense.
